Janet Russell, producer, singer, vocal arranger, voice teacher and music director of The Singer's Workshop has worked in every phase of the entertainment field.  Her production company provides convention entertainment for the corporate market using her jazz style vocal arrangements and frequently casts her advanced and professional level students in the shows.  Her continuing relationship with San Diego's talent agents provides her students with insight as to protocol before, during and after the job.  As a teacher, Janet maintains that competent singing is within the grasp of virtually everyone with the discipline and drive necessary to succeed.  Not everyone has a beautiful voice, but those with technical ability and a marketable style can create their own success! 

  
  

Janet's teaching technique is based on conveying a physiological understanding of the mechanics of vocal production for the pop marketplace.  She combines the pursuit of the highest artistic standards with the development of personal style adapted to commercial music. Whether one is a beginner of 8 years old or a seasoned adult performer,  the same principles of basic competence and knowledgability are applied to impart a broad education of not only scientific technique but the protocol of the professional singer in every venue from the recording studio to the concert hall.
